Distant Member Program
The K-9 Search and Rescue Team, Inc. has incorporated a Distant Member Program to welcome members not residing near Dolores, CO, the Team’s base and headquarters. This program has enabled the K-9 Team to access expertise and assistance from across the Western USA unavailable to most teams. Distant Members are full members and participate in meetings, class room training, and other activities as available on the internet. It also allows for first and subsequent operational period response over a much wider geographical area.
A Division is formed if three or more members join from a geographical area, under the direct guidance of a Division Supervisor on site, but still report to the Team’s staff the same as a CO Division member. In addition, all Distant Members and Divisions meet the same standards and requirements as the CO Division. Currently, K9 Search and Rescue Team Inc. has divisions in Colorado, Arizona, and southern California.
If you are interested in the Distant Member Program, additional information is available by calling (970) 882-4746. Furthermore, you can read more about joining the Team by following the link on the left menu to Joining the Team.
